Vietnamese Egg coffee explained
Hello peeps,
If you watched the latest video about Vietnamese egg coffee you need to know this:
During the War, milk was a rare commodity at times and so you know, Vietnamese people love their coffee. Out of not enough supply (Fresh Milk) and always on hand Eggs the following recipe got invented and gave us that delicious coffee we all Love.
INGREDIENTS:
Strong Filter coffee (espresso ) Condensed caned Milk, Honey ( now replaced with Vanilla essence ) 1 pack of sugar One egg Yolk and coco powder to garnish.
Preparation: 8 oz coffee cup (glass cup preferred)
Separate the egg yolk from the egg white. Add 4 drops of vanilla essence and the sugar, beat the egg until creamy and you can hold the cup upside down without the beaten egg is running :)
Pour 4 oz of coffee in cup, top it with 3 oz condensed milk, stir until blended in, spoon layer in the beaten egg, garnish with coco powder, all done.
ATTENTION: Locals do not stir, I will leave it to you.
